Covid hotel days
Oh so soft piano music in the silence,
Floating somewhere, replaying
Infinitum, keeps me tranquilised.
There's one small sealed window,
Across - a building just as sealed.
No life to see, birds, humans, green.
Sideways sunlight is the Life.
i gather it on skin and in photos,
Doesn't stay long, but returns daily.
Friendly voices on the phone,
We discuss food, little problems,
The fuse blew once, a man came.
Big, tall, dressed as an astronaut,
Ready for a spacewalk, set right
My problem, returned to earth.
Sometimes distant voices, vendors
Yelling about wares in ancient familiar tones,
Incomprehensible, but reassuring.
Time is all one piece, stuffed in my room,
Like a prescription dose in process.
Half infusion done, half left to complete.
